What I've Been Readin'

Hey y'all! I haven't done one of these posts in a while, but maybe it's a good thing, considering I haven't had much chance to read lately! lol But, nonetheless, here is my list of recently read books! ;-)

The Brethren (Annie's People Series #3)The Englisher (Annie's People Series #2)Recently, Kait let me borrow her book series, Annie's People - The Preacher's Daughter, The Englisher, and The Brethren. When she heard that I had only read one Amish book, she decided to remedy that 'error' and see if she could get me hooked on Amish books! :-P lol So, anyway, I borrow the three-book series and enjoyed my time spent with Annie, Louisa, and Ben.
The Preacher's Daughter (Annie's People #1)The ending was, to me, a little disappointing. I don't want to give away any spoilers here for those of you who have not read the book, but I had been hoping for a totally different outcome...especially since Annie was already opening up to the idea that you can have a personal relationship with the Lord - a thing that the Amish evidently believed was prideful to think. But I enjoyed reading the series. Am I an Amish fan? Nah...not really...not yet anyways! :-) Maybe I just need to read more...or stick to reading about the New Order Amish! ;-) lol

Almost HeavenThe other book I read, Almost Heaven, was from an author I've never heard of before, Chris Fabry. It was fairly good, although it lagged in a few points and I didn't feel 'gripped' to continue reading. I gave this new book three stars. Interested in hearing more of my thoughts on this book? You can read my review of it HERE.

No Greater Love (Extreme Devotion Series: South Africa #1)No Greater Love is the last book I have completed, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this lovely book by Kathi Macias! This book won 5 stars for it's adventure, suspense, and heart-touching story about Chioma and Andrew. I can't count the number of turns this book took that completely surprised me! While the whole book was underscored with a very sad note, I didn't find this to diminish the book in my eyes. The story was very real, and while I mourned the touching, heartbreaking ending, it was a beautiful end. I hope to write a review of this book soon on my blog, so be looking for it! ;-) But in the meantime, if you're interested in getting this book for yourself to read, you can purchase it HERE for under $12!

CrestmontThat's all that I have currently finished reading since last I posted here (I know, quiet pitiful, isn't it?!). But I am currently in the middle of reading Crestmont by Holly Weiss. So far, it is a good book, though I haven't gotten far enough into the plot yet to say that it's gripping! ;-) I guess youi'll have to wait till my next "What I've Been Reading" by me to find out how I liked it! ;-) If you can't wait for that, you can check out the book HERE in the meantime! :-)

Beverly Lewis was my first introduction to Amish reads. She is still my favorite because of it. Since then, I've delved into many genres.

She writes great books for children as well!
