12 Days Of Christmas GIVEAWAY Bash - Day 12; The Last Day!

Here’s day 12, our last giveaway!
In the well-known song, 12 Days of Christmas, we are looking at each verse and explaining what each item named represents! So for today, we are looking at the twelfth and final verse;

On the twelfth day of Christmas,
My true love sent to me
TWELVE DRUMMERS DRUMMING,
Eleven pipers piping,
Ten lords a-leaping,
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtledoves,
And a partridge in a pear tree

As we have already discussed, we are the ones singing it, telling what our true love – God – gave to us. The partridge in a pear tree represented Christ, the two turtledoves represented the Old and New Testaments, the three French hens represent the theological virtues, and the four calling birds symbolize the four gospels, and the five golden rings are the first five books in the Old Testament (the histories), the six geese a-laying are the 6 days of creation, the seven swans a-swimming are the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, the eight maids a-milking are the Beatitudes, the nine ladies dancing are the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit, the ten lords a-leaping represent the ten commandments, and the eleven pipers piping are the 11 faithful disciples.

The twelve drummers drumming represent the 12 points in the Apostles Creed!

1 - I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
2 - I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
3 - He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.
4 - He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell [the grave].
5 - On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
6 - He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
7 - I believe in the Holy Spirit,
8 - the holy catholic Church,
9 - the communion of saints,
10 - the forgiveness of sins,
11 - the resurrection of the body,
12 - and life everlasting.

So, onto the giveaway – for the twelfth and final day on Book Ponderings 12 Days of Christmas we are giving away a copy of An Amish Christmas: Expanded Edition, 4-in-1 by Beth Wiseman, Kelly Long, Kathleen Fuller, Barbara Cameron! :-) Want a chance at winning this? 12 Days of Christmass GIVEAWAY Bash, Day 11!

Wow! Tomorrow is Christmas Eve! This end of the year giveaway bash is going by so quickly! I hope everyone is enjoying it.

On the eleventh day of Christmas,
My true love sent to me
Eleven pipers piping,

Ten lords a-leaping,
Nine ladies dancing,

Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
FIVE GOLDEN RINGS,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtledoves,
And a partridge in a pear tree

As we have already discussed, we are the ones singing it, telling what our true love – God – gave to us. The partridge in a pear tree represented Christ, the two turtledoves represented the Old and New Testaments, the three French hens represent the theological virtues, and the four calling birds symbolize the four gospels, and the five golden rings are the first five books in the Old Testament (the histories), the six geese a-laying are the 6 days of creation, the seven swans a-swimming are the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, the eight maids a-milking are the Beatitudes, the nine ladies dancing are the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit, and the ten lords a-leaping represent the ten commandments.

For the eleven pipers piping, they stand for the eleven faithful Diciples. Simon Peter, Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James bar Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas bar James. Because of Judas Iscariot's betrayal, he is not included as a disciple. So, therefore, these eleven pipers piping are the remaining apostles who remained true to Jesus.

Onto the giveaway – for the eleventh day on Book Pondering's 12 Days of Christmas, we are giving away a copy of Christmas at Harrington's by Melody Carlson! :-) Want a chance at winning this? Follow the guidelines below to find out how to enter!
