Diving Into...The Truth Seeker

What Book? This time I chose a book that I haven't read in a while, yet is one of my very favorites - The Truth Seeker by Dee Henderson! :)

Why That Book? This book has been one of my favorites for a while now. I have always loved reading FBI stories and learning about Lisa O'Malley, a forensic pathologist, was a real joy.

Which Character Would I Be? Why? Originally I was going to do a previous book in the O'Malley series - The Negotiator - but after thinking about it, I realized that I was more like Lisa and would be more likely to have her job than Kate's,  and liked Quinn more than Dave. Lisa, like I said, was a forensic pathologist(yep she studies dead people for the FBI for a living) and if I hadn't made the choice to be a stay-at-home mom someday and further my talents in things I could do from home, working in forensics is something I seriously would have looked into. I also loved Quinn(Lisa's guy). His cowboy attitude and...well...just everything about him made me really like him. Also, she had several awesome brothers - especially Marcus, who was my favorite of the brothers(closely tying with Jack). So all around, I think I would love being in Lisa's shoes!

Diving Into....A Killer Among Us

Good morning everyone! Sorry this post is later than I usually do it. Crazy morning. :-) I hope your weekend went well. Today we have another "In the Book" post. These are always a lot of fun for me to dive into, and I hope you guys (and gals!) enjoy reading them as well. Remember, feel free to join in the fun by naming a favorite book of yours and who you would want to be! :-) Let's begin!

What Book? I picked a book I have recently finished reading...and absolutely loved! It's now sitting on my 'favorites' shelf and I am constantly thinking of the wonderful adventure and suspense that I read about within the book cover. What book am I talking about? Lynette Eason's new suspense/thriller, A Killer Among Us!! (Even the title sounds totally cool!)

What happens when the hunter . . . 
becomes the hunted? 

Kit Kenyon is a first-rate hostage negotiator. Noah Lambert is a good detective with excellent instincts. These new partners have hardly had time to get used to each other when they are thrown into a grisly murder case. As evidence mounts up and more victims are found, Kit and Noah realize they are on the hunt for a serial killer. The problem is, he may be hunting one of them too.

With nail-biting suspense, clever plot twists, and a hint of romance, A Killer Among Us is the latest thriller from Lynette Eason. It will keep readers up late as they race to discover the killer--and whether Kit and Noah will live to tell about it.     
 

Why That Book? Well as I mentioned above, I just had such a WONDERFUL adventure in that book. I am a big suspense fan and love a book that will put me on the edge of my seat, holding my breath to see how the heroine and hero are going to make it out alive. And that is exactly what I found in A Killer Among Us. It was awesome!

Which Character Would I Be? Why? Out of the three female characters who play lead rolls in this book as well as the two previous books in this series (Too Close To Home and Don't Look Back), I found myself very much like Kit Kenyon. She was determined and head strong, yet wasn't the type of girl to push the guy out of the way and try to go all tough. She was strong, she did her job, but she was the type to allow doors to be open for her and to lean on a man's strength and support. All these are qualities I loved about Kit and if I was able to dive into this book, I'd pick her. :-) (Though the ending would be a little scary to go through...but at least I now know how it ends! ;-)

Diving Into...Head In The Clouds!

Here we go again with this weeks In A Book!


What Book? This was quite easy for me to choose - it's one of my all time favorites! Head In The Clouds by Karen Witemeyer! :)


When a recovering romantic goes to work for a handsome

Why That Book? If any of y'all know me or have read many of my reviews, you'll know that I am not a huge of sappy romance stories with no lessons or adventure or anything in them 'sides romance. This book had it all - lessons, adventure, a tad bit of suspense, and a sweet love story. It easily became a favorite book of mine and I loved reading it! I chose this book because 1) I loved the story - it was so good - and all the lessons learned in it, and 2) because of the setting - 1800s sheep farm. I'd love to live back in that time - SO cool!

Which Character Would I Be? Oh that's easy - Adelaide! She reminded me of myself in SO many ways! 'Sides - she got the awesome hero, Gideon! ;) I really loved her character and the things she learned throughout the book - she was continually making me think "Hey that's me!". 
She was also cute Isabella's governess - I would love to take care of such a sweet, darling girl! :)

Diving into....Waterfall

Hey all! Today is our second bi-weekly post, "In A Book". As mentioned before, we will be rotating it with our regular book discussions, which have been moved to Mondays. So, here we go! :-)

What Book? I picked one of my all-time favorite books, Waterfall. If you want to read my thoughts on this book, go HERE.


Gabriella has never spent a summer in Italy like this one.
Remaining means giving up all she’s known and loved…
and leaving means forfeiting what she’s come to know…and love itself.

Most American teenagers want a vacation in Italy, but the Bentarrini sisters have spent every summer of their lives with their parents, famed Etruscan scholars, among the romantic hills. Stuck among the rubble of medieval castles in rural Tuscany on yet another hot, dusty archeological site, Gabi and Lia are bored out of their minds… until Gabi places her hand atop a handprint in an ancient tomb and finds herself in fourteenth-century Italy. And worse yet, in the middle of a fierce battle between knights of two opposing forces.


And thus does she come to be rescued by the knight-prince Marcello Falassi, who takes her back to his father’s castle—a castle Gabi has seen in ruins in another life. Suddenly Gabi’s summer in Italy is much, much more interesting. But what do you do when your knight in shining armor lives, literally, in a different world?

Why that Book? You mean besides the fact that Waterfall is just totally and completely awesome??? lol! Besides THAT big incentive to get to be in this book, I love the medieval setting of the story. It would be so cool to get transported back in time along with the sisters and get to experience all that.
Another reason was everything the girls encounter. I'd love to be able to handle a sword like Gabi and run to the rescue of my dear sister. Or stand beside a seasoned knight and fight the Paratore soldiers so that the fair lady can make it to safety. Or....oh! Just any of the adventures they encounter along the way. :-)

And finally, Which Character would I be? This is a hard one! I'd definitely be either Gabi or Lia. In regards to their personality, I am more like Gabi. But then I think I have a bigger crush on Luca then Marcello (though they are both awesome!), lol. But, in the end, even though I love Luca's fun personality, if I jumped into Waterfall's storyplot, I'd want to be Gabi. :-)

In A Book - Blink

Hello readers! I am happy to be announcing that we are starting a new bi-weekly post titled "In A Book". We will be rotating it with our regular book discussions, which have been moved to Mondays. So here I go, writing the first post in this new series! Let us know what you think! :)

The Book:


For this week's In A Book, I am choosing to enter Blink by Ted Dekker.




The future changes in the Blink of an Eye . . . or does it?
Miriam is a Saudi princess promised to another, a pawn in a political struggle that could shift the balance of power in the Middle East.
Seth is a certified genius with a head full of numbers, a life full of baggage, and an attitude born on the waves of the Pacific.

The Character:

I would choose to enter as Miriam, the very involved secondary character. 


My Reasonings:


The reason I would choose this book if I was able to enter any book I wanted was because it was fast paced and exciting. I would choose to be Miriam because I loved her character. Strong and courageous, she knows what she wants and she goes for it. She also is in danger...surely I wouldn't want to be in danger...but she's got kind and loving Seth at her side who, what do ya know, can see events before they happen. Who wouldn't want to be with this guy?! I also found that I was similar to Miriam in quite a few ways, and I think that if I was to meet Seth in person I would have very similar conversations with him. Seth had a sense of humor, which I know I would love because I myself have a huge sense of humor(just ask Katy. :P)
I've always wondered what it would be like to take a step into the life of a Muslim girl and Miriam, being Muslim, was perfect. She was just a very interesting character who would be fun to be.
While danger lurks around every corner and men are out for her life, I still think that with Seth at my side, I would be happy to be Miriam.
